Metapraxis III: Silence (e)Sound muSic noiSe

(in no particular order)

The third Metapraxis project -inspired by John Cage’s ideas ?on silence, sound and noise-
is exploring the function of music in performance and the concept of songs in contradicting formats.

It includes music by
F.Schubert and C.Fox
as well as by
W.Cheshire, A.Cleare, G.Emfietzis, J.Herbert and S.McLaughlin.

Metapraxis Project II: "...flow my tears..."

Our second project (ap. 1-hour long) built on John Dowland's 'Flow my tears' and Yannis Kyriakides's 'Satellites', is thematically concerned with the contemporary world life’s current state of affairs, consequences of selfishness and personal insensitivity.

It consist of acoustic and electro-acoustic music by:

• the Dutch-based composer Yannis Kyriakides
• the UK-based composers: Gregory Emfietzis, George Holloway & Scott Mc Laughlin
• and two early music excerpts by John Dowland and W.A.Mozart

As well as music, the show features readings and video projections.

Metapraxis Project I: "Life & Myth"

Our first ever project "Life & Myth" is based on the Orpheus myth. It includes music by:

-C.Monteverdi, C.W.Gluck, H.Purcell (arr. by B.Britten)
-Richard Barrett, Christopher Fox, Scott Mc Laughlin, Gregory Emfietzis.

As well as music, the show features texts, videos and theatre!
